African Network Of Prayer Newsletter
Does it matter if we are specific when we pray? I believe it does, because God answers specifically. Each month a country will be featured for focused prayer, for an unreached group or area. For the entire month, let us focus our hearts and prayers on that country, joining together to intercede for the lost.

Chad is the featured country for the month of May.
Republic of Chad
Official language Arabic – French
Population 2014- 12,809,000
Capital – N’Djamena
Official religion – None
Religion – Animists account for almost one-fifth of the population. Animism flourishes despite a diversity of beliefs; a widespread common feature is the socio-religious initiation of young people into adult society. Slightly more than one-fifth of the population is Christian, primarily Protestant or Roman Catholic. In Chad, as elsewhere, Christian missionary work has not greatly affected the Muslim population, it has rather been directed toward the animist population.
FOCUSED PRAYER: Focus our prayers on the country of Chad and ask God to call, equip and send an Apostolic missionary with the saving message of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38) to the people of Chad. Pray that God will prepare the hearts and minds of the Chadian people to be receptive to the Acts 2:38 message, and that they would receive the Truth of the Word of God.
“Then the Lord said to Elijah, “Go to the east and hide…drink from the brook…So Elijah did as the Lord told him…” (1 Kings 17:2-5 NLT).
In order for us to be effective in our prayers, we must have the two qualities that were part of Elijah’s lifestyle. We must be willing to HEAR God and to OBEY Him no matter the cost.
