One of our pastors drives a taxi to help supplement his income. After an all night shift, he dozed off at the wheel and scraped along the lane-dividing barrier. When he got out to examine the damage, he realized he would have to change one of the tires. It was 4:00 AM. So imagine his surprise when a friend passed by and stopped to offer assistance. As our pastor made his way to his friends’ car, another vehicle traveling at a very high speed rear ended his vehicle causing both cars to flip over several times. Miraculously, the driver of the second vehicle was uninjured. If our pastor had not been beckoned by his friend, he would have in the direct path of the on-coming vehicle. Although both vehicles were a total loss, our pastor realized that God saved his life by sending a friend when he needed one most.

We thank the Lord that a Trinitarian pastor and eight of his members were baptized in Jesus’ name. The Bishop from one of the Trinitarian independent churches wrote to the UPC of Chile wanting to affiliate with them. The church in Chile referred him to the church in Zambia. We made contact with him and had a Bible Study. We gave him our Articles of Faith to go and study. The following week he came to meet us and he said he believed the Acts 2:38 message and he made a decision to be baptized in Jesus’ name. The Bishop along with the wife and one of his pastors where baptized in Jesus’ name at one of the UPCZ local churches. We prayed with them and they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Since then, eight more were baptized from the same group and one received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Bishop is now considering to affiliate with the UPCZ.
