Drive-In Church Rained-Out

Sunday at 2PM Online

With the weather forecast for Sunday May 3rd predicting rain in the afternoon, we will not be able to have Drive-In Church.

We encourage you to have a time of worship and prayer in your home prior to 2 PM.  We will have United Prayer, Singing, and Chat via ZOOM after the Pastor’s Message is completed.

At 2 PM you will have some options in how to connect to Pastor’s Message. Choose the best option for you:

1. FACEBOOK:
On Calvary Church Woodstock Facebook Page

https://www.facebook.com/CalvaryUPC.Woodstock/

2. CONNECT via INTERNET or PHONE on ZOOM:
(Internet – video and/or audio lets you see other church members)

(Phone – If you don’t have good internet access, you can listen on your phone to Pastor’s Message, take part in United Prayer, and Chat).

If you have not already received your email invitation, CONTACT US and request the ZOOM information for the meeting.

With the physical church building being closed to the public, you can conveniently continue to support the ministries of Calvary Church through the secure PayPal online giving portal. If you want to make a donation directly, just contact us and we will arrange to accommodate that for you.

Christian Development

Christian Development lessons are available for self-study; they can be picked up outside the church building (or contact us and we can arrange to have them delivered), or DOWNLOAD HERE. Because fellowship is an essential part of our Christian life, we encourage you to be connected with a friend or another member of the church family, and discuss the lesson with them.

Please contact us if you have any other questions or prayer requests. If you leave a phone number or email, we will get back to to you.

Drive-In Church

During this time of precaution and distancing, Calvary Church is offering a safe, alternative, exciting way of doing “church”. On Sunday, May 31st at 2 PM, we are offering “Drive-In Church” for everyone to Experience New Life!

Drive-In Church will be hosted outside in the parking lot of Calvary Church at 135 Wallace St. (off Houlton St.) – directions. There will be singing, prayer, and preaching. All the congregants will be in their vehicles.

This is in full compliance with the provincial requirements in the revised state of emergency.

We care about the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of our church and community; and since worshiping, learning the Bible, and praying together is an essential part of our lives as Christians, we want to do all that we can to facilitate this need. We also recognize that every person has different tolerances, and every family has different circumstances; we encourage and support you in making the best decision for yourself and your family.

With the weather being unpredictable, we will be determining if Drive-In Church is happening week-to-week. Stay connected and watch for updates.

Here are some details that are required to keep Drive-In Church within the rules mandated by the Province of New Brunswick:

  • Attendees will remain in their vehicles during Drive-In Church.
  • Vehicles will be parked 2 meters apart.
  • The church building will be closed; washrooms are not available.
  • The electronic donation center will be available outside (or you can donate online); physical distancing and sanitary precautions will be maintained.
  • People who are carpooling with someone outside their household or “bubble family” – and thus, cannot maintain social distance – should wear a mask which covers the mouth and nose.
  • If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home and contact us with your prayer request; we will pray for your healing.

If you have any further questions that have not been answered above or on the COVID-19 information page, please contact us.

Coronavirus (COVID -19)

Because the Government of New Brunswick has imposed a state of emergency which prohibits assembling as a singular group for religious purposes, we will be suspending regular church services until further notice. We will be connecting in alternative ways which are in compliance with the requirements of the provincial state of emergency.

Join together…

We will be joining together for Drive-In Church May 31st at 2 PM at Calvary Church at 135 Wallace Street in Woodstock – (Directions)

Read a message from the Mental Health Commission of Canada …

(Philippians 4:6-7) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Missionaries Bobby & Tanya Lewis

On Sunday night, August 11th at 6PM, Calvary Church will host a missionary service featuring the ministry of Bobby and Tanya Lewis, missionaries to Germany.

Bobby was born in the Chicago Metro area and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. Tanya was born and raised in south Louisiana. They met at Jackson College of Ministries and from there relocated to Baton Rouge where they married and launched their ministry together.

While working in their local church the Lord opened a door for Bobby and Tanya Lewis to serve on the Associates in Missions program in Germany. Shortly after, they were appointed as missionaries to Germany where they served a four-year term before returning to the USA to plant churches. They are thrilled to be returning to Germany to continue planting churches and training workers for the German harvest.

Kids Day

Calvary Church will be hosting a Kids Day on Sunday, March 17th!

  • 10:30 AM & 6:00 PM will be kids services featuring “God’s Handywork” kids ministry; evangelists Tim & Yvonne Rimmer.
  • All ages welcome!
    • Note: Due to mild weather/rain forecast and thus wet, slushy snow, we have called off the AM sliding party. We are so happy that The Rimmers are available to be with us both services on Sunday!!
Tim & Yvonne Rimmer

GOD’S HANDYWORK (Tim & Yvonne Rimmer) offers power-packed evangelistic services that minister to the young and the young at heart. We use a wide variety of awesome puppets, object lessons, ballooning, get-up and dance action songs, gospel illusions, scientific experiments, clowning, stories, and drama!!

TIM RIMMER: Tim has been ministering to groups of all ages for 20+ years. Before becoming a Children’s Evangelist, he taught Sunday school and children’s church. Tim has a creative personality and incorporates a dynamic blend of illusions, balloons and puppets into a power-packed Holy Ghost anointed service that will minister to any church’s needs. His character, Handy Dandy was developed to connect to the children at their level. He will leave them scratching their heads as he performs a variety of illusions that will baffle any age group. Using silly props and plenty of audience participation he is planting seeds of scripture deep within each child’s heart. The lessons taught allow the children to understand Biblical truths that will be remembered for years to come. Handy Dandy has been known to bring mystery, lollygags, and laughter to every service he attends. His outgoing personality and quick-witted humor always achieves him instant rapport with his audience. Watch the excitement fill the air as Handy Dandy pulls his ventriloquist puppets, Little Ed, Brussel Sprout and Cee-Jay out of their backpacks and instantly bring them to life. The puppets relate to the kids with their life-like daily trials and struggles as they look to Handy Dandy for approval and direction.

YVONNE RIMMER: Yvonne is an accredited author and licensed counselor.  Yvonne currently writes a lot of the lessons you will see during a GHW service. She is instrumental in writing the schedules, helping in set design and keeping the service flowing backstage, while joining Handy Dandy at times as Sunflower. Sunflower loves to keep Handy Dandy on his toes as he never knows what she has in store. She also joins Handy Dandy in the worship part of the service to encourage the children and adults to get involved.

Youth Rally

Calvary Church will be hosting the Atlantic District Youth Department for a Sectional Youth Rally on Friday, January 25th at 7:00 PM. It will be a inspirational service for students to connect with God and each other.   Following the service, there will be food and fun (cost $5).

Atlantic Youth President, Matt Woodward will be the guest speaker. The Worship Team will be assembled from churches around the local region.
